Every piece in House of Sonam starts the same way — with someone standing in front of a mirror, turning her head slightly, deciding whether today calls for something quiet or something that catches the light.
We started House of Sonam because we noticed a gap nobody was talking about. Fine jewellery asked you to save up and wait for "the occasion." Fast fashion jewellery asked you to accept it turning green on your skin within a week. We didn't think those should be the only two options — so we built the one in between: jewellery you can wear every single day, that looks like you spent more than you did, and that doesn't punish you for wearing it in the shower or on a hot afternoon.
How We Design
Every collection starts with a mood before it starts with a sketch — a festival, a season, a memory of a particular saree or a particular evening. We don't design from scratch as much as we curate: sourcing pieces we'd actually want to wear ourselves, trying them on, living with them for a while, and only bringing them into the House of Sonam collection once they pass that test. Every piece is checked by hand before it ships — for finish, for weight, for the kind of small imperfection a machine wouldn't catch but a hand will.
We keep our pieces in a price range that doesn't ask you to think twice — because we believe feeling good in your jewellery shouldn't be reserved for special occasions, salaries, or someone else's permission.

Why "Sonam"
For twenty years, I built a career in the IT industry — the kind of career you're supposed to want. Deadlines, deliverables, a calendar that belonged to everyone but me. Somewhere in those twenty years, I also became a mother, and somewhere in the space between the two, I started noticing jewellery differently — not as something you buy for an occasion, but as something that quietly tells you who you are on an ordinary day.
House of Sonam is what came after I stopped asking "what should I do next" and started asking "what do I actually want to build." Sonam is my own name — and putting it on the door meant there was nowhere left to hide behind a brand. It isn't a corporate pivot with a business plan behind it — it's twenty years of discipline redirected toward something I actually love, run the way I wish more small businesses were run: personally, carefully, and by someone who reads every single review.
